The evening was tedious. My two hours of shopping made me forgot the summer heat, but after that, it had its full effect. To escape that, I started thinking all the way what my mom prepares for supper. It also succoured me deal with the heavy load I was carrying. The city traffic was in its full life, constantly perturbing my thoughts. When I was almost near home, a scene made me stop there and I never thought that it would turn out to be the most inspirational one I have ever seen.

                 On the other side of the road, a blind man was trying to cross the road. He was a handsome man in his early thirties, with a neatly tucked white shirt giving the appearance of a highly educated one. The traffic was in serious roar, so he failed continuously to cross the road.

                 To my surprise, none of the people around him tried to help him despite seeing him troubled. I was on the other side of the road and the heavy covers in my hands stopped me to do that. And after a minute, he tried again to cross by himself and almost got hit by a bike. And again, he failed. Surprisingly, there was no sense of irritation or frustration on his face.

                 Then came a man who might be around 45 years old and had only one leg. He offered his support to the blind man. He directed the blind man while the latter supported him. Together, they crossed the road while a tear escaped my eye. This sight inspires me till date.

                 I seriously gainsay the one - legged person to be called handicapped. It is we who lack good heart are handicapped ( To be frank, I could have helped the blind man and having a heavy load in my hand is an excuse). That reminds me of Oscar Pistorius who said "You're not disabled by the disabilities you have, you are able by the abilities you have".

                 Life is not about earning, it is more about giving. At least, I hope that this incident may change some of our hearts as it changed mine.
